Four situations where you should stop and call
None of these are worth investigating yourself. All four are worth a phone call at any hour, and none of them cost anything to ask about.
Exposed conductors
Keep everyone away from it, isolate the circuit at the board if you can identify it safely, and call.
Water near a board
Do not touch the board. Isolate at the main switch only if you can reach it without standing in water.
A shock from an appliance
Unplug nothing. Switch the circuit off at the board and stop using every socket on that circuit.
